Just To Say My Last Words

I was crying
for food
So I ate your
plum
It sat on a table
near by--

Forgive me
I am wrinkled
and nearly blind
and the taste
Nearly killed me.

The following poem is a combination of Williams: "This Is Just to Say" & "The Last Words of My English Grandmother". I used the format of the first poem as far as no punctuation and less words in a line. With slight use of content, I created a different theme while keeping the same letter format. From the second poem I obviously used the content but I also used the small punctuation marks. Although it may seem harsh it is not meant to be cruel. It can be funny but also sad.
